Apple iOS 16 Lockdown Mode - what is it and should you use it?

This Week in IT, Apple announces a new feature for iOS 16, iPadOS 16, and macOS Ventura, Lockdown Mode. Designed to protect against targeted attacks by nation states and mercenary spyware, like Pegasus, Lockdown Mode is aimed at journalists, high profile figures, dissidents, and anyone who wants a more secure device.

Do you think Lockdown Mode will be effective? And would you consider using it or enabling it for some personnel in your organization? Let me know what you think.

Of course I would use it, I don’t use Facetime so there is not even a trade off for me, I would just opt out web sites I trust and perfect hardening

I'm impressed with the incentives being offered by Apple to hack Lockdown mode. I'm looking forward to complete anonymity with all forms of communication which is, more than likely, never going to happen.

The Microsoft Swiss cheese Windows is of course inherently insecure that most people should discard, while Android and Linux should have automatic ways to boost security on their platforms as well, like Apple’s.
It’ll be interesting to see how this evolves. The fourth Industrial Revolution demands top security, the very best.
