Actually, there's a spot on east side of the floating island (near the teleport waypoint below the east side of island), I remember it has wind current going up, at the exact place after taking the pyroculus

It'd take you high enough to go into the island anyway

The fact that I used Wanderer, Kirara and Kachina to get up there, not knowing I had to do a world quest to get there at all. I thought I was supposed to climb 😭

You can easily go there by just collecting 3 shell puzzle and after go up there will be wind current to take you directly to the island.
I accidentally did this without completing quest.

There is is a pyroculus at the bottom of one of the spikes coming from the island if you collect it you get a wind tunnel that brings you up there I did it with navia

i was able to really easily from a nearby tall mountain using just wanderer, no stamina food or anything either

You can also jump off, use the fontain wind booster gadget, sit in the air current to regen stamina, wait for the 20 second cd, repeat. It'll take forever, but you can climb indefinitely.

I used the green saurian’s ability, grapple hooked, climbed up for 40 minutes only relying on stamina foods and successfully got up there 😭

I would highly recommend doing the quest, the npc you meet is quite fun and you learn about her kind of sad past. The place to start the quest is near a waypoint and will have an spiritway like trail coming up from a ruin in the ground.

Yeah helpful tip with Exploring. If you switch to Mualani or Kachina and they do the Rushing animation where they get on the shark or Twirly and move faster they have not Used their Skill yet!!! Meaning when the Bar runs out tap the skill Mualani will do a 360 trick on her shark an Kachina will rev her Rover. Giving you another full Bar of the skill BEFORE you use your Phlogiston meter

Triggered the quest by accident, didn't even notice there's a whole ass island on top of my head lol.

I was ramming around with koholasaurus, i think i was fighting nearby hilichurls? or triggered a quest starter when i got near? I forgot how it started but for sure i fall right into the hole while ramming around, decided to take a walk further inside, didn't paid much attention to the npc nearby down there, proceed to fight the automaton while completely forgot about the girl. Happen to defeat it near the girl and accidentally tapped the notice out of habit and had to fight again. The whole quest i was like, "Ohhhh? You can swim in the lava with saurian without dying? Do i need to ram this symbol? There's a penguin in here? How to get to that firing mechanism helpppp!!! Oho so this ring is like trampoline... What's next? Do i need to climb myself out? Ohhh i didn't know there's a trail you can get into!! THERE'S AN ISLAND ABOVE??" 😂😂

Took me like 4 hours doing the quest cause i spend the whole time checking everything and trying all sorts of things to understand how things work and what's next haha.

I was assisting my little Ar 17 sister out and helping her get these way points. It was only about a week after I figured out you weren’t meant to just get up there.. 😭

We did it all with Kachina, Mualani, Yanfei, and Diona on the team (her team not mine). We practically just used random wind currents and puzzles and made it to the top on our own.

You can unlock that waypoint with wanderer you have to jump from small mountain with pyrocule which is close to sky island that's how I did it
