HIS DAD FORCED HIM INTO THE MARINES. HE DIDNT WANT TO GO, BUT HAD TO BC HIS DAD WANTS HIM TO BE MORE *man like* . Yes this is true. He has PTSD from it. Ever since he got in the games, he was deeply scared. So when he needed to get amo, he went to get it. But as he went to leave, he heard the shots. He thought his teammates were being killed! Honestly, I would hide after hearing it too. 120 came to check on him, leaving the others behind. 120 knows a lot about guns, and there wasn’t a lot of people left. 120 kind of ruined it, but I’m not blaming on anyone.

I don't think that Dae Hoe is a traitor, he claims to have been in the Marines and many theories have proven him to have PTSD. PTSD explains this all, we know he isn't afraid to fight, he has done it before. I think gunshot and screams triggers his PTSD, he had an abusive father and this shows because of his defensive positions whenever he hears screams and gunshot for example when the frontman screams in the 6-legged race, he draws closer to Jung-bae.
