We pulled our Trailer; You won’t believe what we weighed!

Today is an exciting day as we take our new to us logging trailer out for road testing! After all the integration and shop testing, it's finally time to hit the road. We picked up a set of super B-log trailers and headed to the mill to get everything ready.

Super B-log trailers are unique because the rear trailer is connected to the lead trailer with a fifth wheel. This design requires careful weight distribution, especially in mountainous regions. We'll show you how we manage this, improving traction on our drive tires, as we deck our trailers at the sawmill.

Join us as we back the trailer into position, scale the truck, and head to the charging station. Our Edison Motors truck is equipped with cutting-edge Electric Charging Technology, making it the payload king of the bush. We'll also troubleshoot some regen issues with our engineering team, proving that testing always brings new challenges and learnings.

Watch as we dive into the nitty-gritty of our testing process, and see how our team resolves issues on the fly. If you enjoyed the video, don't forget to like, subscribe, and check out our merch store for more awesome content. Follow us on Facebook, Instagram, X, and TikTok for daily updates. As both a trucker with 27 years in the States and Canada, and someone very concerned about the environment, I think what you guys are doing is fantastic.

love that you have an extra heavy duty truck and still come in at standard weights!
my dad always wondered about this idea of replacing everything from transmission back with a generator and motor axles and its so cool to see someone actually doing it!

i just know that once these trucks become commonplace that extra weight bonus you get for being electric will get removed, no way does the government leave that.

Lifelong tradie here, this hybrid tech in a panel truck or even shrinking it down into service vans could absolutely revolutionize EVERY industry! Absolutely love what you guys are doing, hope to see this in my area in the near future!

Definitely can't wait to see this truck do some real work. Maybe haul a load of equipment into the bush then switch trailers and pull some logs back out. We all know that logging equipment doesn't transport it's self to the site.

I know you dont want to break Topsy yet... but it would be cool to see her at a loaded semi drag race. Your competition is rolling coal out both stacks with the C18 screaming and mashing gears, as Topsy is quiet as a mouse pulling away and winning 😀

Your philosophy for how vehicles should be made and operated are exactly why I sing your praises everywhere I go.

The Story of Chase and Edison is great, what yall are doing is amazing for the truck industry and the evolution of this tech. I absolutely can't wait to see where it goes from here.

That extra payload equals extra $, low fuel consumption equals $.

Although I am an import to BC from Manitoba...seeing Topsy a BC designed, built and engineered truck wearing legit BC plates makes me damn proud of what people in this province can do!

Regarding positioning the trailer in the exact location to pickup the boggie, you could easily have a simple remote that you could use to command the truck to nudge forward or back to get you aligned perfectly. You could electronically limit the remote to 10km/h or less.

Would there be a way for you to add an “inching remote” to your system. A wireless remote that you could inch the truck very slowly forward or backwards while you are outside the unit. It would be great for your loading and trailer hitching, some tractors have a system for this to aid hitching trailers and implements etc. just an Idea.

Things that are AWESOME:
- the truck weighs the same as a smog machine
- it has MORE POWER than a smog machine
- the CEO of Edison has a valid Class 3 TRUCKING license
- AND KNOWS HOW TO DRIVE ONE!!!

Dude, this is perfect. A hybrid truck makes 1000% sense considering trains have been diesel-electric for a very long time.
