not quite...our "official worldview" is that you don't get to explain what you don't understand by appealing to what you can't demonstrate.

You don't understand what science is.
Science is not about using a microscope or equations. It's about searching objective truth and basing conclusions on evidence and not lies.
You gave an example of morality and how it's routed in us, and we have intuition of it. Still we believe in "thou shall not kill" but we all rout for the bad guy to die. So our intuition is very subjective, and science is the way to try to understand when is it objectively moral and when is it objectively not.
Science is a method. It's not a "what" to believe, it's "how" do you decide in what you believe
