Показать описание
"The past, present and future of calcium imaging to spy on neurons in their native habitat."
Karel Svoboda - Vice President and Executive Director of the Allen Institute for Neural Dynamics
Abstract: Calcium imaging is the most widely used method to track neural activity in model systems. Why is this and how did it come to be? I will present a historical perspective of some of the key technologies that together have pushed the field forward, including optics, sensors and algorithms.
The Optical Interest Group (OIG) seminar series is coordinated by Ulrike Boehm and Chen Wang.
