The number of refugees and Internally Displaced People (IDPs) has been rising constantly over the last two decades, particularly in hosting low and middle-income countries (LMICs), crossing the 100 million mark in light of the Ukraine crisis.

At this scale, forced displacement affects socio-economic development and fragility worldwide, calling for development responses.

In the context of increasingly protracted displacement, local inclusion of forcibly displaced persons has taken a larger role in public policy.

This #DevTalks examines opportunities, challenges and emerging practices of the inclusion of refugees and IDPs in hosting countries’ society, social service systems, and economic development - as part of the OECD Development Centre’s Policy Dialogue on Migration and Development, and in collaboration with the Development Co-operation Directorate.
