I really enjoy playing the pokemon tcg nothing is better then a good pokemon card pack opening if the pokemon cards are worth money its even better. getting into a pokemon card battle is also fun. Of course playing the pokemon tcg is my forte! like how to build a pokemon deck and playing the pokemon tcg online is how I spend most of my evenings. Pokemon tcg tournament are also great and if you even need any help on how to play the pokemon tcg then let me know! Dont forget you can also open pokemon tcg pack online too! Ive never got to open packs with leonhart or randolph but hopefully will soon! Not pokemon vgc pokemon vgc online or pokemon tcg world championships. Building pokemon decks is very fun! watching other deck profiles and deck lists is very helpful

As an old Man, I'd say that flipping coins for Energy removal was a huge change. Decks changed completely. Let's not even talk about Super Energy Removal

This is the era I got into the game. I heard a lot about how good the game was from DPP era and started to follow the scene and learn the meta right as the rule change was happening. I still think about the prime decks of that format or even later decks like colbalion piles with electrode prime. Shoutout to the truest OG, jwitz the pokeprof who’s content was seriously a decade ahead of the game.

You want a mesprit? I suggest you drop it

@11:00 yup this video is the exact one that got me the info i needed. The goat

Quick suggestion, maybe go back to the older thumbnails that have a card you can see, with the newer videos I find myself thinking I already watched it or find it less interesting or unique and wanting to click less. The videos themselves are great just an idea.

I think the problem with this change is they used to would change the game evey time a core set came out now i feel like I'm still playing black and white all this time later

Indeed, it turned into big basics as attackers and evolved into support.

I started playing at the tail end of 2009 but didn't really get competitive until black and white. I often think that I didn't know how good things were when I started and didn't have the chance to appreciate some of the best formats.

Biggest mistake in design if you ask me. RS and DP were when design was at its peak.

Great video! Pokémon tcg pre- and post-BW feel like two different card games. I remember my first competitive season was 2009, but I quit shortly after Next Destinies came out. I felt (and still feel) that the evolution mechanic is integral to the Pokémon franchise, but the new Pokémon EX introduced were so powerful that evolution decks just became obsolete. I only returned to the game a few years ago and was reasonably happy with the early SVI format, but again recent card design seems to promote big basic decks. I wish the new ex had stats that made them only slightly stronger than single prize Pokémon, like in the RS-PK days, but that pure single prize evolution decks like Metanite were still viable options.

I only played Pokemon TCG for 1 year.

And that was 2010.

I played Sablelock (Sableye with LuxChomp) and did well, winning all tournaments locally.

Then this change came with Black and White, and I stopped playing till Pokemon TCG Pocket came out recently.

I love the Poke Powers and Poke Body as well as the SP Pokemon and their Lv.X style.

Hopefully I’ll get to play something similar in a later version of Pokemon TCG Pocket hahaha

Btw, great video, and it brings back so many memories, and the cards I used to love. Luxray Lv.X was so expensive back then, it took me a while to get that card.

Most expensive card of the format and my deck required two of it hahah damn.

I think the biggest shift was letting everything be Basic instead of keeping basics weak and evolutions strong. Combine this with the moment they let go of the 120hp limit, and the game was changed forever.

I still have my Stormfront Gyarados deck. Good times.

Damn I really miss this format. The days where you there weren't any multi prizers other than expert belt. Those were the days.

We really had to get creative when they anounced HGSS up in the 2012 rotation. We thought it would at least be Platinum up. Pachirisu 18/95 Call of Legends went from a $1.50 card to a $45.00 card overnight. Things got real SLOW until nEXt Destinies came out.

I actually remember trying to play Pokemon when I was 6, and I only had the older Diamond and pearl cards, it was so annoying to play at school against kids with reshiram+zekrom with my SP and prime cards 😭

Bench protection definitely existed in this era (Bench Shield came out in the same set as Spiritomb, AR), but it was nowhere near worth running.

I don't understand this statement 10:15 as tournaments always had 3 age divisions, a kid should never play against an adult due to this.

I hated facing that Garchomp so much 😔

Why did you have to play "Fight with Cynthia" concurrent to Garchomp on screen 😂 PTSD simulator
