Socrates was an Ancient Greek philosopher and lived in B.C. He lived between 469-399. His philosophical method is based on questioning and discussion to question how people can attain accurate knowledge. One of Socrates' most important students was Plato, and Socrates' thoughts have survived to this day through the dialogues written by Plato.

Socrates' philosophical influence is important as he made deep thoughts on the nature of concepts such as virtue, wisdom and justice and made suggestions on how people can apply these issues to their daily lives. Socrates was convicted in Athens as a result of the allegations against him and ended his life by drinking poison, which is known as his tragic and impressive death.
