Hurricane / Moon, but Better (feat. The Weeknd, Lil Baby, Don Toliver & Kid Cudi)

Part of a new project called "Donda (but better)," which remixes from Kanye West's 10th studio album "Donda" both Hurricane (feat. The Weeknd & Lil Baby) and Moon (feat. Don Toliver & Kid Cudi).

I am not taking credit to the music that was released by Kanye West and his team, nor do I intend on gaining anything from this project. I am simply only expressing the way how I would have approached the album while also respecting and honoring the original work released by Kanye West and his team.

Hey guys, the original commenter which I had pinned deleted their comment on the link to cellist’s video in the beginning; and at the time making this edit I didn’t know where it came from.

Hearing strings in a Ye song always brings me back to the MBDTF times. I wish he would use strings again in his songs

Moon and the original hurricane beat make me instantly emotional and nostalgic for something I don’t even know yet

He's not afraid of copyright, copyright is afraid of him.

When I first heard Moon I thought it was an extension to Hurricane.

You’re the first person I’ve seen to blend the original beat with the new one in a unique and catchy way, ontop of remixing it with Moon. Good shit, man.

This is literally the perfect combination of all the good elements from each version of the song. The original beat from the demo is definitely better but the Weekend’s vocals from the final version are essential and the transition into moon was immaculate. You the goat for putting this together 🙏🙏

Hearing the Weeknd’s vocals from the final coupled with the synths from the original scratched an itch in my brain I never knew I had

You did what Kanye should've done. You combined the og melody with the organs. Genius. Thank you. 🙌😢

Scrapping the original instrumental was one of the stupidest things Ye has ever done. There’s something haunting and familiar about the sample that would have been nice to keep in the final, even slightly muffled, and the way you subtly keep it in there is absolutely brilliant (and what he should have done).

The thing is, so many other "Ultimate" versions of songs just put a bunch of verses from random songs on one track and call it a day, but the use of minimalism to achieve maximalism is why Kanye's music is so good, and because of that I think you nailed this. It really is the ultimate version of the song!

You don't change that much; you add the OG beat and mix things together, tying everything perfectly, and I absolutely love that. It's a song that I can just put on and listen to and enjoy any time, and that's what Kanye's music makes me feel.
