You're using SATA II on the HDD. You should use the same SATA generation if you want an accurate comparison of HDD vs SSD

Everyone here fails to understand the benchmark test loaded as much as possible at win start up to create a heavy load and then compared the two formats....if he wanted to boot into windows faster he could have done but he created a test for the benchmarking for comparison to achieve a result, and they way this was done clearly demonstrates SSD superiority over HDD. Anyone here thinking otherwise must be very special as in needs

The actual transfer rates for ssds are around 400 mb/s and for this particular hdd it is probably around 150 - 300 mb/s. 6gb/s and 3gb/s are the maximum bandwith for the drive connectors.

In all fairness that raptor is a 6 year old SATA II hard disk whereas that EVO SSD is brand new SATA III drive.

This is nothing compared to my shit WD IntelliPower, my pc startup time is about 5-6min ( i5, 8gb ram 1600mhz etc )

The windows logo and stuff don't even get to load on my pc. Halfway trough the windows 7 logo thingy it stops for half a second and then jumps right into windows.

The problem with this is, he's got so much bullshit loaded on that PC on startup, this is a weak review.

thank's man, you will explain the rest of the year for marcos hernandez and he will not understand that this is an old installation of windows that get there in bios (startup). I wanted to know the difference between SSD and HDD, and you showed perfectly what the speed difference between them. nice video.

Why are you comparing the older velociraptor. The newer one is sata lll with 64mb cache with more platter density. The one here is over 8 years old.

chill out! :D I have said from the beginning ... this is "Startup time for Windows 7.... has been used long with Windows gadgets and other stuff" i'm not saying its startup time for clean/new instal.

remember that mechanical hard drives are only as fast as their internal transfer rate!, dont be conned by 6GBs because that only applies to ssd. sata 3 hd's can only do that if they have a small ssd built into the drive and then it transfers in burst of data but internally it still moves at its internal rate.

Why does everyone use boot time? In all practicality I care about how fast applications open up

my pc starts up in 14 seconds now and that is only on the relatively cheap Samsung 750 Evo SSD.
A lot has happened since 2012.
