Appropriate Speeds on Country Roads Driving Lesson | Speed limits

On lots of country roads the speed limit in the UK is national speed limit, unless it says different. But it does not mean that you should be trying to drive to the maximum speed, you need to drive to what is appropriate speed for each country road. As you approach a village the speed limit will come down to most places 30mph, some places even less.

Good video James and Martha. Not sure if you do James, but for country roads for bends do you teach limit points as that can be a good tool to use on speed assessment for a bend.

I like scenic routes because of the countryside but the traffic is not to bad like on the motorway.

You should see some of the country lanes in South Yorkshire, sharp as anything windy, blind at many points and near Treeton, Rotherham a 60 mph national speed limit road that curves round on a street with lights, houses on estates then bends right round way down to 30 mph limit 300 metres later going into a schoo zone ( that's 20 mph when the sign is flashing )l, you really have to be on your A game on some of these roads, they are fun, but can dangerous, limits points on these roads are your best friend
