Came across the Kubuntu Focus project and I thought it deserved a spotlight as I believe it represents one of the approaches that desktop focused Linux projects need to take to drive desktop Linux adoption.

Kubuntu is my daily driver. It's such a great distro to use.

First distro that I've tried - that had such a polished installation and effectively bundled software. Wonderful .... Well worth a spin.

This might be an interesting project to keep an eye on, especially if they do make the distro more widely available.

Thanks for taking the time to do this video, I'm looking for a new Linux distro on my machine that works smoothly with NVIDIA graphics out of the box and has a nice user interface. I'll give this one a try.

that widget cheat sheet and guides to fix common issues are golden, all begineer friendly distros should have something similar

This fits in with a recent video from The Linux Experiment regarding ease of use and adding usability for new users to Linux. While it is "Kubuntu" focus, a lot of this may be able to be translated to other distros running KDE. Looking forward to seeing something like this for Gnome as well and for these to be given a huge bump by the communities as a new resource for newbies to help them out.

Damn, that looks really good. I didn't know that Kubuntu Focus was even a different thing from Kubuntu, thought it was just a hardware seller that licenses the Kubuntu name or something. But those tweaks looks absolutely awesome. Hell, it almost feels like the KDE equivalent of PopOS. I'll be frank, I think it's criminal that they don't just make it available for easy downloading. There are a few features that I want from Plasma 5.25 and 5.26 though so I hope there's a non-LTS version that has more up-to-date KDE eventually

Too bad, they only ship in us or ca mate. Would nice to get it in Australia. The framework laptops are finally shipping into Australia now.

will get it. Just don't get burnt out. Whenever you need a break, take one.

Finally, a setup specifically to ease normies into Linux! Very exciting.
It looks like a solid distro, but the real magic is in the guidance from the menus/overlays and having a thorough help resource in one place -- no more Googling (or calling me) for every blessed minor thing a user wants to do.

EDIT: I'm trying it out now and it's everything this video says it is. The only negative I can give it is that you're required to give an email address to get a download link emailed to you.

would be nice if you put the link to the web site into the video description :) Thank you for the video!

Thank you for this video. I got it and installed it. So far it looks so stable and also contains all the apps that I need. I just added flatpak and installed the latest KDE over it. It looks great. Also its Laptops are so tempting.

Looks like a fantastic project. I don't care much for Snaps which are likely installed on the distro, but everything else looks top notch. Coming from someone who doesn't care much for KDE to be honest. Something like this for Linux Mint, Pop!_OS and regular Ubuntu LTS would do a lot in bringing more long-term users to team penguin, even without the full tech support or dedicated hardware. Some people may want to add these features like the hints and stuff in their regular USB flashed Linux install. It's like a more thorough tutorial is included. The Welcome screen is nice but does very little for greenhorns.

(2) in "Slicex" you could create New Drum Loops and softs in any order from different slices. And keep the loop slices playing in and

Love the idea but hope most of their guides are better than the photo editing with darktable one which is very limited and out of date, the screenshots are a version about 4 years old showing tools that have either been deprecated or are very much on their way out.

Besides the new Mabox Linux, this is the only other project taking Linux to the Get Work Done scene, instead of the other distros that tend to break around
