As an user of AI, I don’t think AI is gonna replace artists. They’re just a tool. What we really like in art a lot of the times is not just the “piece of art” but the meaning and the impact between the art itself with the meaning plus the reference of the artist themself. AI could look or sound cool, but all the times I’ve used it, it seems empty. We will always need human significance, then human intervention

As someone who writes songs and uses AI to make songs, it definitely cannot replace actual musicians. If you compare what I write to what AI writes, you’re looking at one that sounds like Disney channel and one that sounds at least listenable

People created cheesy cliche songs forever. Long before AI. The thing that's new is that AI can spit a song in a minute but it takes me days to record song start to finish.

I think there is a high chance that it will replace us. The level of the songs and compositions that ai makes is at such a high level, even more than great composers like Mozart and Beethoven. I think music is getting repetitive. There's even the viral melody in Apt that's heard in many other popular songs that people are starting to notice. I see a future where artists will use Ai for inspiration and work together to create something completely fresh. That's the only way to continue evolving and maybe even create a new genre.
