Rio 2016: Court of Arbitration for Sport upholds ban on Russia

The Court of Arbitration for Sport, based in Lausanne, Switzerland, has rejected an appeal by Russia against the decision to ban it from the Paralympic Games over evidence of state-run doping. The court said Russia did not file any evidence contradicting the facts on which the decision was based. Russian Sports Minister Vitaly Mutko said the ban was "beyond belief", adding it was more a political decision than a legal verdict.
