Hello and welcome, today we'll be discussing the seven steps to become a real estate agent in Australia. If you've been thinking about entering the real estate industry, then you're in the right place because property sales are booming in every state and territory across the country. So, let's dive into the steps you need to take to become a successful real estate agent.

Step one is to do your research. Before jumping into the industry, it's essential to know why you want to become a real estate agent. Talk to people in the industry, read the real estate pages, go to open houses, and auctions. Doing these things will help you acquire the skills necessary to succeed in the industry.

Step two is to create a concise, relevant, and interesting resume. When writing your resume, focus on how your skills and knowledge relate to the job you're applying for. Tailor it to the job you want, make it interesting, and proofread it.

Step three is to find the right real estate course for you. It's always best to check that any course you enroll in is accredited by the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) because then you know it meets Commonwealth Government standards.

Step four is to complete your chosen course. The educational requirements vary by state, so make sure you check what's required in your state. For example, in Victoria, you need to complete a Certificate IV in Real Estate Practice (CPP41419).

Step five is to apply for registration. Once you've completed your course, you need to apply for registration to work as a real estate agent. The requirements vary by state, so check what's required in your state.

Step six is to find a job. After you've obtained your registration, it's time to find a job. You can work in real estate sales, leasing, property management, and admin. However, you cannot open your agency with just a certificate or registration.

Step seven is to continue learning. The real estate industry is continually evolving, so it's essential to continue learning to stay up to date with the latest trends, regulations, and technologies.

Inflation and Recessions are part of the economic cycle, all you can do is make sure you're prepared and plan accordingly. I graduated into a recession (2009). My 1st job after college was aerial acrobat on cruise ships. Today I'm a VP at a global company, own 3 rental properties, invest in stocks and biz, built my own business, and have my net worth increase by $500k in the last 4 years.

I’m currently working as an estate agent in London and have been for the last 1yr and 6 months. I’ve recently been granted an Australian passport and was planning to move to Brisbane the middle of next year. Would you suggest I start the courses now? And where can I find the resources? How should I start this process. Also how does the Australian process vary to here in the UK?
