Our bicycle tour of Kazan, Tatarstan - Russia

Kazan is the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan in the Russian Federation. On our second day in the city, we rented bikes to do a long ride through all the most important sights.

We visited the Kaban Lakes, the Old Tatar Neighborhood, the lakeside grills and walkway, the Kremlin, the Kazan Circus, and crossed the Kazanka river to the north of the city where we explored the new boulevard and the Kazan Family Center (a massive metal bowl-shaped building). We then rode across the Millennium Bridge and explored the huge sports area, which included skate parks, bike tracks, basketball courts, parkour areas, football fields and more. One of the most impressive sights had to be the Farmer’s Palace, completed in 2010. The scale and architecture of the building is a sight worth seeing in person.

We ended the day by having a large dinner at a restaurant attached to the Mosque by our house. The food was some of the best we had during the trip and the cheapest.

Beautiful, all those places also beautiful at night with light on. Kaban lake has some ecology reward. Plants naturally cleaning water and at night full of boats. Have you tried chak-chak, Tatar national deserts. Ochpuchmak - Triangle - Treygolnik?

Kazanis in Tatarstan, its part of Russian Federation. But its not exactly Russia, means Russia is one republic and Tatarstan is a different one.
