As you mentioned, you never used the Ace Pro so you wouldn't know this is my guess. No one - not even Insta360 admits this on their site. The Ace Pro and Ace Pro 2 batteries are compatible. If you invested into several Ace Pro batteries (1650mAh), they work fine in the Ace Pro 2.
