EN ►How did Szymanowski collect motifs of the Polish mountain folk music? In the Polish Tatras people play music and sing everywhere - in their homes, in the open air and at all gatherings without exception. It is tradition and it is spontaneous, entirely natural. Szymanowski was attracted to these musical occurrences. A long time ago I heard on the Polish radio an old mountaineer’s story: “He would come wherever the music was playing, sit somewhere in a corner and scribble - nothing but dots and strokes, dots and strokes...” :)

Dans les Tatras polonaises on fait de la musique et on chante partout - en famille, en plein air et à tous les rassemblements, sans exception. C’est la tradition et ça se fait spontanément, de façon tout à fait naturelle. Szymanowski était attiré par toutes ces occurrences musicales. Il y a longtemps, un vieux montagnard racontait à la radio: “Il venait où il y avait de la musique, il s’asseyait quelque part dans un coin et griffonnait - rien que des points et des traits, des points et des traits...” :)

PL ► Jak Szymanowski zbierał motywy muzyki góralskiej? Bardzo dawno temu, Jerzy Waldorff przytoczył w jednej ze swoich audycji radiowych wspomnienie starego górala: „Przychodził, gdzie tylko muzyka grała, siadał gdzieś w kąciku i bazgrał - nic tylko kropki i kreski, kropki i kreski...” :)
