You're one of the few if not the first that explained Xmas tradition in the Philippines very well.

Filipino Christmas season starts and ends with Jose Mari Chan;
starts in September 1 with "Christmas in Our Hearts" and ends in
February 14 with "Please be careful with my Heart"

As a filipino, we celebrate christmas as soon as we hear Jose Mari Chan on the 1st of the ber months.

but legit, we need those 4 months to celebrate like going home to visit family, then your other side, then your significants other's family. Then there are the class parties, batch parties, friend group parties, barangay parties, parties from that one person you said hi to once, ect . We have a goal to make you eat and bring home so much food that you are set for the rest of the year.

I love Philippine Christmas because the entire city is fully decorated for 4 months. How can you not like a city filled with lovely guts and decorations? When I was a kid, this is what I looked forward to. My childhood memories revolved around anticipating Christmas because the whole family gets to walk around and see the light shows. One in particular is the story of the birth of Jesus portrayed by lifelike statues of the Nativity scene all the way to the visitation of the 3 wise men on the canopy of Goodearth Emporium COD in Cubao, Quezon City. I have fond memories of it.

It's 4 months and 6 days, to be exact. Technically, Christmas for Filipinos end on the 6th of January during the feast of the Magi, Epiphany, Theophany or the Baptism of Jesus which is traditionally commemorated during the 1st Sunday of the year but since the 6th of January falls on a Monday next year I'm going to assume that the clergy will celebrate the masses for the Feast of the Magi on the day before.

This is so true. In my case, I love decorating as early as September bc its the only time our house becomes the loveliest, warmest, most colorful not lonely, dull and depressy(I just made that word😅). I just love the Christmas season. The colorful lights emits that lively vibes and the music ugh it brings a lot of different memories.

My observation is that some pretty Christmas decorations are expensive and troublesome to set up and stow away. Eventually, Filipinos set them up as early as they can so they can make the most out of their decorations, and take them away after the day of Epiphany, which is when all countries around the world have reasonably stowed away all Christmas-related paraphernalia. Lazy people tend to work towards efficiency. 😅

I'm glad we are celebrating it early again, there were years back then that a lot of people don't feel that christmas vibe until late november. Same with the fireworks. I guess we are healing back. In the 90s it's way more grand, especially september, you will already hear Jose Marie Chan's songs played at every mall
