Recovery Effects Shortwave Pedal

Who's afraid of subtle, old-school noise? Recovery Effects set out to deliberately offer the sounds of analog tape warble, wire recording hiss and overall crappy-noise-floor AM radio junk to your sound. Tweak the knobs to get even heavier sounding modulation effects, and envelope filter-like tones. But this pedal shines in the atmospheric range, in our opinion.

Great demo. Got mine last week and loving it. So many useful but weird sounds in that pedal.

That thing is freakin’ cool. After the podcast with that pedal, I was curious about the old wire recorder technology that it mimics. Interesting! Sort of the Sony BetaMax of the 1930s. It was developed sort of in parallel with tape recording, had advantages that were useful during WWII, and then died out.
