Car tires hate being stationary. They're designed to move, and while a large portion of the world is sitting stationary, it's important we take care of our car tyres as much as they take care of us.

In this video, I'm going to give you six quick tips on how best to look after your tyres, and tips for your car, for when your vehicle is sadly sat around, spending its entire life stationary.

Tip 1 - Prepare and inspect the tyres
Tip 2 - Get the car in the air
Tip 3 - Over Inflate the tyres
Tip 4 - Roll the car
Tip 5 - Keep the car out of sun, ideally in a garage
Tip 6 - Tyre Trainers

If you have any questions please ask below, I will do my best to answer all of them, if you haven't already I'd really appreciate you hitting that subscribe button, we're so close to 100k it would be great if we could pass that milestone soon. I've already listened to the comments in the last video, and will be doing the very requested Michelin vs Goodyear vs Conti long term test, so there's another reason to subscribe and hit that glorious bell icon!

Thanks again for watching, and as always, safe motoring (but only on essential journeys)

Caresing the tyres once a day and asking them if they need a massage is great for your tyres. Also finishing with a kiss is lovely.. Lol😘

I put lotion on my tyres so they stay soft and moist. When it gets too cold outside I cover them with a blanket. Everyday I take their pressure and ask the tyres, are you well alligned baby yeah? No discomfort then? Smashing then my babies. Oh Im not British lol..

We have ran out of trees, so it's time to hug a tire. 😀

Great channel, always love your videos 👌🏼

Could you maybe in the future do a deep dive video on why today's tires are so much better than 10-20-30 years ago? Like technological changes, production changes, compound changes etc???
I think that would be interesting

I've left cars standing for a year plus at a time over the last 25 years and never had a flat spot (that I know of). However tyre dressing is a good idea if it's outside and over inflating them is also something that I'm going to do now myself.

Great advice, this sort of thing is usually over looked.

i love how much thought and care is taken here, for the cars as well as for the content provided here. i really appreciate it!
i adore how well all these cars in the videos look, because they are well maintained even if they are usually not extensively modified

I've had a winter and summer vehicle nearly all my life. (older vehicles, nothing special) Give it a good wash, park it for 6 months, then get in and drive it in the spring/fall. Never a tire issue or any other issue for that matter. Most prep people do will cause more damage than they prevent e.g. jacking up the car will potentially damage bushings and suspension components - you really want that vehicle to sit at it's natural height when stored. Only thing I do is make sure to use ethanol free premium gasoline in the last fill-up before and first fill-up after - but even that is probably overkill.

What a magnificent video again... What a musical British accent (which particular British accent of England this is, I dunno of course)...
I saw this video today afternoon and your subscriber base was 98+ thousand. Now you are only 200 subscribers short of the 100, 000 milestone, Dear Jonathan.

Excellent tips, majestic narration, wonderful video. Can hardly wait until your next video where you shall test Goodyear F1 Asymmetric 5 against Michelin Pilot Sport 4 and Continental Premium Contact (CPC) 6 in 18" wheel size.

Many thanks for advice. Harry's Garage also advised filling up petrol tank to stop rust ( I think? ) developing. Brilliant tip about the brakes, no one else has mentioned that one, and I didn't realise tyre dressing protects tyres from UV. Will get some. Thanks 🙂👍

Great vid dude. Nice to see you add a little comedy too. I've just bought a new set of wheels and Michelin tyres so will be following at least some of this advice as Michies do seem to go out of shape a bit sharpish (from previous experience).

Excellent advice as usual, just not doing the whole axel stand thing as thunder storms in my garage are a regular occurance (or not).

What about if you have a few of set spare tire (either a set of installed tire to rims or just a set of the tire)

Maybe did you have another video discuss about how do we suppose to kept in the garage, wash and clean it from small rock, kept in shade, what room temperature is suitable, how to put it (lay it down or stack it up), or how even to stack the tire, what if you have a special storage room, how long will the tire sustain, e.g. snow tire or even track day tire while not in use.

Cheers to you and to all your viewer, hope you surpass the 100k subs soon and even more. ;-)
