The stunt was planned and it backfired. Watch the whole scene carefully, listen to the lyrics, and watch Justin slide his are up and across while she watched. If you watch closely, he fumbled while he was grabbing the pull away material and then the snaps. Her right nipple was covered in sequins.

I’ve never believed this narrative. Stunt backfired on them. The masses weren’t ready for something like this. Today, hardly anyone would be complaining if they tried the stunt again.
