I love all the colourised footage from way back when, but seeing famous scenes like this get the treatment is just 'chefs kiss'. I would love to see Metropolis colourised, or similar iconic material from the time.

The amount of planning to have made this work is extraordinary

He had been "Jackie-Channing" for years way before Jackie Chan himself was born...

Whilst most of the war was pretty solid... The bit around the windows was made of cardboard and papier-mâché.

no, they didn't. the wall was on hinges and started out on the ground. not only was the area where the window was marked on the ground for him not to go outside of, but also they hoisted it up with him stood there to make sure no part of it ran into him and then dropped it back down without him having moved at all from that spot. there was no way it could hit him.

it wasn't like, "we did the calculations and don't think it will." raising the wall with him stood there did it safely in slow motion backwards and ensured no part of the wall would hit him on the way down.

They Built the Front on the Ground, using thin Wood and Cardboard, He Then Stood inside the Window and then they Pulled the Front up
With Ropes to A Already Built Back Drop.
And Then just Let it Fall Back in Place, Over the Same Spot . Very Impressive

Buster didn’t even flinch. How is that even possible?!

keaton was a great actor but the best stunt man I ever seen

it was never about where and how to stand, it was about making the wall fall straight without slippage or sliding. This could never be guaranteed and that is why the upper part of the wall was made of so he would never have been crushed

It's better when no commentary is added. The music is enough.

Thank god I wasn’t the dude doing the math behind this lmao

In Arrested Development, a character named Buster does an homage to this stunt, but without risking the actor's life.

Something about seeing it in colour makes it look EVEN MORE terrifying
