Manchester City 'are demoralising the opposition' - Steve Nicol | Premier League

ESPN FC's Steve Nicol, Shaka Hislop and Dan Thomas recap Manchester City's 5-0 thumping vs. West Ham. Nicol heaps praise on Pep Guardiola for his man-management and Man City's continued dominance in the Premier League. Sergio Aguero was on the bench at the start in London, and Hislop thinks it will be tough to keep him happy late in the season if Guardiola continues to favour Gabriel Jesus.

The craziest thing about the City v West Ham game was when the score was 2-0 or 3-0 for City the camera showed their sideline and they had Aguero, Fernandinho, Gundogan, Bernardo Silva and Cancelo warming up. Manchester City are stacked from top to bottom and they’re easily going to get really close to 100pts again and they have a squad good enough to win every major trophy

People are starting to understand the Pep effect on the league. He raises the bar so high that only one more team can keep up with the standards he sets.
The way he keeps the players happy is by being honest and consistent with his demands. If players perform, they play. If they don't, then they sit on the bench. He creates a competitive environment for everyone's benefit.
All this talk of VAR is unnecessary. It's there to get the decisions right. Small margins or not.

remember back in the day when english fans were stating that if Barcelona would play in the PL, they wouldn't be scoring that much because the PL is so competitive....

City's second squad would still be second in PL.

Manchester City Pep Gurdiola is no doubt the best on the planet...although it may not the champion league but winning every major trophy is already quite good achievement

If you are that good as Man City is, why should you care whether you dismantle a team by 5-0 or 7-0 . It's a sport. You either win or you loose. You don't whine about how a team is sooo good that it is unfair. Money can buy everything but it can't buy the consistency in the system that city have displayed. They work hard to get those results.

I'm not even a Man City fan but this talk about city making the league uncompetitive is ridiculous.

City and Liverpool have thrown down the gauntlet to Arsenal and Spurs to challenge them for the title
this season.
I think we can forget about Chelsea and United being run by two rookie coaches.

Don’t really think Norwich were rolled over. Liverpool look awful in both Norwich and pre-season. Gonna be tough for them
