UFC 145: Jones vs. Evans (Gracie Breakdown)

Even though the main event didn't end in a spectacular submission UFC 145, there were definitely some beautiful moments. In this Gracie Breakdown, Ryron and Rener focus on the amazing side control that Rory MacDonald used to dominate Che Mills. They explain how he set up the crucifix and go over three escape variations that you can use if you ever find yourself in the unfortunate position that Che Mills was in. They also demonstrate a powerful Kimura finish from the top crucifix control that Rory could have used to submit Mills if he opted to do so. At the end, they announce the winner of the last Gracie Giveaway and the next prize, a new Gracie Tactical Backpack and a one month supply of Acai Roots premium acai product - watch and win!

I appreciate the breakdown and the technique you showed today. I had to miss training this morning and the "mental training" I received was much appreciated.

You two are just so awesome, learning tons. But that's not even half of it, so entertaining and genuine are hard to find. Lots of cred to you lads. /sweden

I know it seemed like that for me initially, but the more I watched, the more I realized it was passion and excitement, and now I'm subscribed to them! Definitely hard to make a judgment call in the beginning though, it's human nature to assume the worst sometimes!

Excellent breakdown. I love BJJ/GJJ. At this time in my life, I work two jobs and have a family to take care of so I cannot practice or roll. My only way of staying up on technique are video breakdowns like this or watching competitions and MMA. Where there is a will, there is always a way to keep learning and growing. Again...excellent breakdown gentlemen!

Silva by TKO! And that was one short, but still really awesome, breakdown. Do more on controlling positions on the future, not only actual submissions... that one was pretty nice! Thank you for your videos!

Love the compression of the opponent into more of a "C" position from crucifix to bump your knee in to create space and barrier. Nice little tool the tool box!

fantastic breakdown as always, way to rep the true fans of the sport.
I may have to invest in the backpack too, I'm always walking to the studio with two big bags to fit all my gear.

Me too! With all the action between Belcher and Palhares, and then Nate's guillotine, I hope they do a breakdown.
