Using ChatGPT AI for Web Development... 😅 AI is Getting Really Good...

ChatGPT is on everyones mind at the moment, and I thought it would be fun to see how AI might be used to create websites. So we will be doing a quick look at ChatGPT, and try to make it generate a basic front page for a websites. 🙂

I have been using ChatGPT-3 for a few weeks now as I am learning React and Django Rest as part of my Diploma. I am not using it to write code for me, but more for helping me break down and understand certain logic within code. I like how you can copy and paste code and ask it to explain the code. It gives me a more reader friendly way of understanding the logic. I got it to explain how a model and a serializer is connecting to an API. It was easier to read the AI content, than what my course offers. As Long as it can help be a better developer just like some tools, then that is what I respect:)

I've been using it quite a bit it's very helpful. If it's going to be a lot of texts you need to ask it to write it in multiple code fields. If it runs out of room or you get a network error when it regenerates will write it in a different way. That part needs to be fixed. It's also really good at writing JavaScript. But you might have to query it quite a few times to get it to write something that actually works. But it has allowed me to do things I never thought I would be able to do. Image generation might be tricky you might have to edit the images.

From what I tested, if you just say "continue" and maybe please too if you really want to it will usually work. Sometimes it doesn't and for sure everytime I used it, it was more for a guideline rather than a finished project. And also for more complex things it helps, if you know what you're looking for. So someone would still need a lot of knowledge to understand what chat GPT did and why something isn't necessarily the best solution. So yeah it probably would make it so a project will need instead of 4 devs only 3 which will in turn maybe lead to more projects rather than less. Cause suddenly at least bigger companies have more profit off of less people. Oh and Midjourney is my suggestion for AI images

if your code gets cut off midway, just write "continue" and enter and it will continue from where it got cut off

Getting a different type of content from time to time is very refreshing and a nice break.
Chatgpt's very good for writing my school essays so that I can focus on learning web development😊. As for your question regarding an AI that can generate images, there's Midjourney and Stable diffusion. Those are good but I read somewhere that the art or images generated by AIs cannot be copyrighted by the person who asked for them. Mr. Krossing, you might want to look into that as well.

When chatgpt cuts off like in that CSS block, just say 'continue' and it will continue writing the code from that point.

it stopped the css as it has a limit for any single response - typing 'continue' will get it to carry on with the same reply

use the COPY CODE Button at the top right of the black box that displays the code in ChatGPT to copy all of the code rather than selecting it

Call me when you realize you do need a skilled developer who can actually put the pieces together 😜
I use copilot and it's great for boilerplating and repetitive work but it's hilarious how it shts the bed 90% of the time asking it to do something unique and it slightly alters a previous function I made to be like "here you go, this is what you asked for".
At least I am entertained by it 😂😂😂
And yes, why are we all asking instead of just telling?
