Dan Slott had the single best idea for Doctor Who I ever heard.

"The Doctor stops the Master from his latest doomsday scheme... but both are caught in the resulting blast.

2 regenerated beings emerge, their clothes burnt beyond recognition.

Both claim (or believe) they're the Doctor.

We don't let the viewers know till the end of the season."

You missed a big one. Peter Jackson. Director of Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit and King Kong almost directed one or two episodes of Doctor Who. Between making the Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit trilogies. Peter Jackson himself pitched the idea of not only him directing one or two episodes. But he would do it at his studios in New Zealand. He was even prepared to do it for no pay. All he wanted was a full size original Dalek. Jackson has admitted he is a huge Doctor Who fan and it would be a dream come true for him to direct an episode. The BBC rejected the idea.

I've found myself quoting Matt Smith a lot lately ("I'll do a thing... respect the thing", "I can buy a fez", etc) and it made me think a Top Ten Quotes of each Doctor mini-series could be fun!

I just saw Freema Agyeman today at a fan convention, at the panel the first thing asked was about any possible return, She responded that she was out of the Whoniverse for now - but did admit she might come back when she was 60 and her other work dried up. So the 75th Anniversary special might feature her.

Also said:
If she could be cast with any other Doctor than David Tennant then it would be Sylvester McCoy (and she also included Paul McGann as her alternate alternative.)
And her big regret was not working with Elisabeth Sladen on the Sarah Jane Adventures as Sladen was so nice to work with.

3:50 Strangely enough, in its second season, "Star Trek:Enterprise" had an episode where they encountered a small craft with no external engines, which was much bigger on the inside and had a control room with roundels in the walls.

You forgot to mention that the Sibling Rivalry plot was nodded to when 10 was telling Martha and Jack about the Master. Martha said, "I thought you were going to say he was like, your secret brother or something." After which 10 paused dramatically and then brushed it off saying "You watch too much TV." lol

I would love to see Tennant and Smith act together again.
Doesn’t even have to be Doctor Who, just want to see them act together in something good & fun
They worked well together

Having the tenth doctor regenerate into the master by having his ring would have been so cool. Could you trust him? How much was he master and how much doctor?

I don't think an evil doctor who would have lasted as long. Having a good doctor and then the master is about all the evil we need.

9:41 Doing so was unintentionally foreshadowed in 2006's "School Reunion, " in which when Sarah Jane says, "You've regenerated, " the Doctor replies, "Yeah. Half a dozen times since we last met." One could assume that he's referring to the Fourth Doctor dropping her off at the end of "The Hand of Fear, " but Sarah Jane actually met the Fifth Doctor in the 20th Anniversary special "The Five Doctors." 5+6=11, not 10. However, in "School Reunion, " the "current" Doctor was the Tenth, not the Eleventh, therefore, there must be an unnumbered incarnation between the 1996 TV movie and Rose, and hence the War Doctor.

4:42 the 2nd Doctor did get a chance to play both himself and an evil dictator in “Master of the World”. So the concept was tweaked slightly and made for an excellent story. 🌚🌝

I can't believe you didn't have the idea of Ace attending the Prydonian Academy on Gallifrey, which I heard they were going to do in the "next" season, but of course that never came to be.

I always assumed the Angel book was written by the Doctor, any time the word Madman turns up in Moffats era its usually referring to the Doctor! Like River says in the Pandorica "I hate wizards in fairytales they always turn out to be him" which would also explain why the Doctor didn't bother to fully read the book, either he'd already written it or realised he was going to so didn't read it to stop a paradox!

I remember Sarah Jane with the 4th Doctor, I was a teenager at that time. Very good companion as well.

The story about "The Final Game" being the original idea for the Third Doctor regeneration story is just that...a story. Delgado asked to be written out as he was losing out on roles so Terrance Dicks and Barry Letts decided to have him sacrifice his life to save the Doctor, it never got past the initial stages as Delgado was sadly killed in a car crash. Pertwee wouldn't decide to leave a show until filming Death to the Daleks a year later.

This is my head canon:
If there ever is an item of unknown origins (I.e. the Weeping Angels book) it makes the plot run a lot sooner if you just imagine the said item is question was created by the Doctor, just not yet.

I actually wouldn't have wanted the 9th Doctor to replace John Hurt's Doctor entirely in the 50th. I would have liked something more along with the lines of the same story we got with Tennant/Smith/Hurt, but ALSO throwing Eccleston in there for a 4 Doctor special.

I would love to see a spin off with martha jones, she is one of my favourite companions! ❤️😊 I also think it would have been really interesting to see a series with amy pond and the tenth doctor, I often wonder how their dynamics would have been different. We'd already had the romance story between the tenth doctor and rose, unrequited love with him and martha, and the best mates relationship with him and donna. So it might have been nice to see the tenth doctor fall for amy but have amy completely oblivious and in love with Rory. Could have been a nice ending for the tenth doctor's character arc. 😊😊
