Just a wee note about the logo...maybe adjust the "ALL"? I don't know about anyone else but I read it as "Two Kiwis, All 16000 miles, the YouTu--"and then went back and read it the way its meant to be...

Hey @codefilms. I haven't had issues with the MPEG codec at all in the past. It comes in an .MXF wrapper, with is then rewrapped in with Canon's XF Utility, or in Final Cut Pro 7. in FCP7 you have the choice to rewrap it in it's native format as a .MOV, or in ProRes422.

I prefer to use video cameras over HDSLRs for a few reasons. Firstly I love to use auto-focus, with the option to engage manual focus in an instant. Video cameras produce a higher bit-rate than most HDSLRs (meaning the picture quality is sharper and cleaner), and the functions I have access to on a video camera are perfect for getting the shot you want quickly. HDSLRs are great, don't get me wrong - I just don't like how long it takes to get the ideal shot sometimes.

Nice camera. Are there any issues with the MPEG codec on your mac? Like bloated file size or processor intensive?

Is there a benefit for using these cameras as opposed to regular DSLR's like the 5D?

@jaysonbarden - Not yet I don't think! I'm considering keeping my old for because it's not going to have a great resale value, yet the ability to do multicam shooting will be awesome!
