why is that there are times when we feel like we really look good and there are times when we feel like we are so ugly?

I don't trust anyone who takes more than 125 milliseconds to complete their smile.

So glad my parents insisted on me wearing braces when i was a teen 😅 I get the importance of having a beautiful smile now that I'm older

Am I the only one who thinks the last “perfect” smile really unnatural?? I think the fact that the eyes seem completely open also adds to this feeling

Hello I'm a certified dentist and i wanted to clarify that the perfect smile has buccal corridors unlike what you said, ideally it should be equal to the width of the facial surface of the first premolars
And black pigmentation on the gums is a racial variation and is normal not an issue that needs fixing, but good video thank you 👍 ♥️

As a dentist from Europe we tend to call teeth alignment with minimal buccal corridors quintessentially "American". It's not something we strive for in our treatment plans and I wouldn't say it's an important part of an aesthetic smile from a clinical point of view.

Could you make a video about the ideal side profile?

I have naturally dark gum, and where I from, dark gum is an attractive trait.

I'd really like to see a video about ancient Greek and Roman beauty standards...anyone else think that would be interesting?

I think analysing River Phoenix’s face would be a really interesting video

If the eyes are not crisping when you smile, it won’t be genuine and attractive. For example, Emma Watson has a beautiful smile. Her teeth are perfect, but even when she doesn’t show her lips, her eyes are genuinely smiling. That’s what makes a face attractive. I’m sure there’s an evolutionary theory behind that, such as recognizing the people who can trust.

I think Normani, Irene from red velvet and Janet Jackson has the nicest smiles I've ever seen. So pleasant and soft. I also love eye smiles like Tiffany from snsd.

dark gums could also be a racial factor.

This series is so good. I love how you can mix great, scientific content, with the attractiveness of social media content. It's not boring, it's not hard to understand, it's very interesting... you're doing a great, great job!! I'm watching them all!

kpop and anime made me learn new type of smiles like the eye-smile (it's the most apparent on east asians), the box-smile and gummy smile.

All of this is spot one. Once I got all of my orthodontics done, people did a 180 and treated me way better 🤦🏼‍♀️ And when I became a dental Specialist, I then understood the science as to why I was perceived totally differently compared to what I used to look like. 🤷🏼‍♀️
