I love the 67 Impala cause my 1st car was a 68 Impala 2door hardtop. Both look so much alike except for taillights, we immediately jerked the 307 out and built a 302 small block engine and put back in the car and was driving it around the same day doing the break in process with the engine. I also added Cragar rim's and paid only 190 bucks for the car cause that 307 engine was so tired lol... I still don't understand how the engine we built became a 302 small block. Something about a 283 brand new cam lifters and push rod's. After the engine was completed the main man called it 302 and it was a strong and torguey engine. I'm remember him using 283 heads I think, and I want to say that 307 block or whatever it was, all I remember is it wasn't the same engine block that came out of the car. I was amazed at how strong the engine was cause I didn't know anything about a 302 Chevy engine so I just called it a 283 cause of the cam and heads he used. 5 of us started at 9a.m. and I was driving the car around by 5p.m., that was in 1977 when engine parts were so frickin cheap and lasted 4ever seemed like lol..I put 500 miles on it and ran the crap out of it for a long while lol

That is one of the most badass cars ever made. Not this one specifically but the Daytona /roadrunners. Honestly think the maroon one vin diesel drove for part of the movie was fucking beautiful
