Hi I have gum abscess is that reversible? Do I need a root canal the gum abbsess is right under the bottom left 1st molar tooth

that tooth has a questionable long term prognosis. You can try the root canal, but it might fail due to fracture from the severe decay. Roll the dice or not is up to the patient.
