Red Hood is a better modern comic book character, nightwing is a refined older comic book character. I wouldn't choose between either

They are both really cool characters but they are both different so I wouldn't say either one is better than the other.

Nightwing - Batman's first protege and son who wants to be his own hero but his development from Robin into Nightwing shows how he has grown up and makes the relationship with Batman stronger and more interesting then ever before and he is a shining example for other Robins to follow and is the perfect candidate to proceed his mentor, whether he wants to or not. Just an overall badass

Red Hood - I can only describe him the way the youtuber 'Godzilla Mendoza' described him "The appeal of Red Hood is that he represents the flaws in Batman's philosophy and he's one of the few characters in the DC universe who can make a legitimate argument against Batman. The fact that Batman never killed the Joker or anyone for that matter is kind of shocking when you find out that his adopted son was tortured and beaten to death just to prove a point. Jason Todd has every right to be angry that the Joker is still walking the streets and killing people on a daily basis, because it shows less of a moral integrity in Batman and more of just a weakness that anyone can exploit, his fear of crossing the line goes from being noble and heroic to more of a character flaw"

Jason makes batman seem less heroic and is one of the villains(or antihero) that actually has good reasoning behind his deeds which makes him a really awesome character.

Overall both characters are awesome :)

Jason's also trained under ancient monks and capable of drawing magical dual swords specialized in handling evil and magic in general (used against bow of Ra too), I think that would have add More Points when it comes about his skills. He has Batman's training even if it's got cut off by his death, he trained all around the world (funded by Talia and killing his mentors), trained by ancient magical/etherial monks (which trainings is harsh enough to have him wish he's still death sometime). His expertise thus include the basic/mid Robin training (detective skill which I agree dick'd probably won), lethal weaponry (I'm sure all other Robin's know enough for their job, but not actual expert/experienced like he is), and magic (not the wizard kind like zatana, but he has means to handle magical threats). I'd have given the last score to Jason. Then add another one as to who's the most good looking and then they'd tie.

Nightwing always has my vote in this battle not to mention with Grayson leaving the mantle of robin and moving on as a solo hero there's no doubt Dick Grayson one of the most well known icons in the DC Universe. Now who wants a Tim Drake (Red Robin) vs Damian Wayne (Robin) video

Admittedly, he did have less screentime as Nightwing than as Robin in that series
