In this interview, Mattias IA Eklundh discusses how the Line 6 Helix Rack and Helix Floor, with its HX modelling technology, have allowed him to create sounds and textures that have broadened his perspective on opportunities as a songwriter.

Starting as a drummer before he picked up a guitar, he developed a love for rhythm that has contributed to crafting a playing style that has seen him recognized as the innovative and ground-breaking guitar player he is known to be today.

Mattias IA Eklundh is a producer and songwriter from Sweden. He is the founder of his band Freak Kitchen, his solo Freak Guitar albums. In addition, he has played on several other recordings, including Evergrey, Soilwork and more.

Mattias is one of my biggest inspirations, as a human being on planet earth. I had the absolute pleasure of attending one of the Freak Guitar camps (2013, 10 years ago.. damn) and he just is one of those rare breeds of people who leaves a lasting impression on you. Of course, musically he's a total genius mad scientist, but as a fellow meatbag, he's also top notch.

It's like a toddler who knows the ABC alphabet, then ... at about 5 years old in kindergarten, all of the sudden realizes the letters go together to make words... It's a HUGE jump in now making words, and sentences and paragraphs.... and better yet, being able to understand OTHER peoples words and sentences and phrases because of it.
