These Dagestani guys are so good at wrestling in an mma setting because they’ve been doing Combat sambo since birth and they are used to setting up takedowns with strikes and also they are experts at nullifying bjj with ground and pound.

People who only follow MMA, and don’t follow wrestling in the U.S., probably don’t realize how religious our wrestlers are. So many times when a great American gets interviewed after a match they start talking about god and their faith. It happens a lot in their interviews, and I think more than in other sports.

The reason it is so effective is because they have managed to chain take downs together and use of the cage. They use the cage as a wall so well.
