Our trip focused on cultural achievements through the ages. The Perigord region in Southwest France is home to some of the oldest known artistic expressions on earth, the Lascaux Caves. We spent a day at Castle Merle, a prehistoric site known for its prehistoric rock shelters and original sculptures dating back 35,000 years. We ate like queens and kings, toured the countryside, spent a day on a farm, visited artists and made some wonderful memories.
