Hey guys, this past Wednesday Eagle Dynamics Dropped a MASSIVE new patch chock full of improvements and additions to DCS CORE, the foot game that runs all of our favorite modules, and today I wanted to share with you guys my thoughts on two small fixes and additions that make a big difference in our DCS World Experience!

Tac Turn Tutorial with side by side Tac View overlay would be excellent. I would add, in addition to that, something similar for BVR cross block

my best guess would be that the heatblur is rendered as a post-process effect, so it was essentially pasting it on tope of everything else that was being rendered in game

Regarding the HUD, I'd say the explanation would be more like this: the engine blur effect is most likely a pixel shader effect, which means it's just a post processing effect on an already rendered frame. Not to draw this effect on stuff that's closer the the player there is some z-buffer cut-off of stuff that's closer than the engine. But the HUD is transparent, so it can't be cut-off (as you wouldn't see this effect when looking through HUD at all) and so the effect (pixel sharer) was probably run over a framebuffer with HUD already rendered effecting it in the process.

Such things are annoying to fix as you need to render the frame in stages (akin or fully like deferred rendering) to overlay such things in correct order.

It’s about time the hud blur got fixed. It was one of my pet peeves that really annoyed me. Now I’ll have to find a new pet peeve. 😂

Did they at least fix the fact that the HUD in Ultrawide is too thick and blurred?

I found there is no need to go through the menu if the player initiates a Tac Turn. Just turn, the AI will perform his turn automatically.
