This piece is so deeply metaphysical and meditative, rising from the depths and developing its polyphonic fabric thus bringing light to us, but not in an explosive way one might do if being in Bach's place: the greatness of Johann Sebastian comes exactly from his form of explaining the world and human existance in it by perfect and precise relations of tones, melodies, proportions of parts and control in exposure of all musical elements. A performer who is aware of this has no problem with mediation of Bach's music to the audience. Mrs Berrut is certainly among such chosen ones.
