Bad Parenting is a very creepy horror game centred around a dysnfunctional family. We play as a child called Ron who learns of a fictional character known as Mr. Red Face, created by adults to teach their children. It's said that he often appears late at night to give gifts to well-behaved kids. But is the story of Mr. Red Face really that simple?

Some people believe the mom was neglectful, but I calmly disagree. The notes she left and the meals she prepared was as if she was a single parent. There are many married people who say they feel like single parents. I'm not sure if her forgetting the birthday was what happened or part of the illusion, but she would have saved it if dad stfu. Many working dads get a pass for that slip up, so why not a working mom?

As for leaving her son, she has left him with his dad every day while she worked. Why would she expect that to happen? Not many people understand that the worst thing to do to an abuser is say you are leaving them. She was courteous enough to give him the option to leave or keep the apartment and the opportunity to say his goodbyes to his son and explain the situation, but it backfired terribly.

The fact that Mr. Redface (the father) pops up in red flashes and the snap when the little boy was dropped makes it even more heartbreaking when you realize what actually plays out.

The way everything tied together was really interesting, like the doll having the floppy neck and the bottle levitating on its own. I'd be interested to see more of this series, although it's definitely dark and kinda sad. Really good video though!

For a first time game from a developer, i'm honestly impressed. Poor Ron but he did what he could.

The mum wasn't the best but u can't denied she tried n actually loved Ron. My only gripe is that she shouldn't have left her son with that man, but she did say she would take Ron with her which was a BIG mistake. I guess even she couldn’t comprehend just how vile her husband could be.

I've come to learn a very important lesson when it comes to dealing with a toxic relationship, do NOT tell them ur plans. It'll only give them the chance to hurt you one more time.

An explanation of the story from what I could tell.

14 days ago, we saw the two arguing about the wife/Mom returning home late. The household is a single income family, with the dad a drunken deadbeat. The child, Ron, is an innocent boy with a mental illness. Anyway, the father accused her of having an affair (and whether this was true or not remains to be seen), and that final fight, with the Mom wanting a divorce from the father, and leaving the house, threatening the deadbeat father that if he isn't gone, she'll take thier son and leave.

In a drunken rage, the father choked and snapped his son's neck, stuffing his body into the closet. Later in the morning, the father left the house, thinking nothing of the murder he had committed just last night.

Meanwhile, the mother returned during the night, and the soul of Ron, suppressing the traumatic memory of his death, relived a cycle where his 'doll' - the part of him that knew the truth but was repressed by the denial the boy had, and thr blind love he has towards his father (the boy is innocent and didn't know better) - to come to reality and face the truth that his father is indeed a terrible person. For 14 days, the boy lived through this cycle, his soul only seen by his mom during the night, and unwittingly haunting his father in a motel room, who realized what happened and lived in fear of the child he had killed, that was slowly decomposing in the closet.

By the time the game started, the visions started to grow too much, leaving the mom to take her son to her room to sleep with him. And after seeing that he was 'gone', looked for him and discovered his corpse. This cycle, however, little Ronnie, without knowing it, helped his mom by passing her the business card to the motel the dad was staying at.

Having finally faced the truth, the boy passed on, staying with his new friends who ended up like him due to terrible parents (the little girl's body was burried, the boy in green's body is burned to hide the evidence, and the child in his diaper was placed in a trunk before it was disposed of later).

There are some supernatural elements in the game, but the mother would have noticed something was off when the boy wasn't around. I could surmise that his spirit lingered, a part of him unconsciously wanting to help his mom get his dad to face his punishment and to later pass on peacefully. That's my version of the story explained.

This game was pretty scary with those jumpscares. The father got what he deserved in the end for what he did to the poor kid. This was sad, but I might consider watching the next one when that game drops

I think it's not how the kids died, but how their bodies where hidden since Ron was in a closet but his neck was fine. So they may have died of something else and got their bodies burned, buried or hidden in a car that got dumped somewhere maybe.

It's just to show that the indie horror game genre is still alive and well. I believe this game is a lot scarier than Poppi's Playtime, Slenderman, Five Nights at Freddy's, and Hello Neighbor put together. I don't qualify Baldi's Basics a horror game because it's more of a meme game than a horror game.

Facts (not fun at all) : the toilet paper is possibly bandages that the kid uses when his father hits him. He died in his birthdays.. the mother only knew about her son's death when she stayed home to take care of him.. she comes home at night since she has a job so she didn’t know her son was dead for two weeks.. also the doll kept using the word "still" when ron wasn't able to open the closest is because the doll tried for two weeks to make ron know that he's dead. (Probably also because the father locked the closet)

This game reminded me of the many stories I've heard over the years. Unfortunately, in my country, iran, if a father unalives his kids, nothing will be done about it. He will not go to prison. Because they say that the kid was his, so he technically owned the kid. Dus he has the right to remove them from existence. But the mother will be heavily punished.
