How far do you think the Jags go in 2024? 🤔

Don’t forget the Jags fired DC Mike Caldwell for Ryan Nielsen who’s huge in defensive line development for New Orleans and Atlanta.
Doug Pederson wasn’t calling plays in 2023 because he was trying to be a little more hands on with the defense.
With Nielsen now there he’s basically the Head Coach of the defense and Doug now goes back to being hands on with his offense along with Press Taylor

The only thing that worries me for this team is Baallke as GM.

Dude tore apart that 2011-2014 49er teams, drove Harbaugh out of town

Gabe Davis was signed before they knew Ridley was going to TeN. The plan was to have both, Gabe was not a pivot

Look, there is a misconception that we got gabe davis to replace ridley but we got davis to compliment ridley not replace him

As a Jags fan I am really skeptical about this team going forward. Now I am in no way saying that the Jags are in a worse position than most teams. We actually had a decent off-season. We added some good O-line pieces, DBs, and a receiver.

My problem is the layout of the organization going forward. There should be no reason why we as an organization should have kept press Taylor. But for some God of a reason Doug Peterson is obsessed with hanging on to this guy despite him being a horrible offensive coordinator. He was willing to fire his own son before he was willing to fire press Taylor let that sink in.

Also when it comes down to DC I feel like Ryan needs and it's not a bad one but we could have done a lot better. The Falcons defense was fine but it was nowhere near the level we need it to be to win a championship. Which is what we as an organization want.

Also the biggest problem is for Trent freaking Baalke as our GM. The guy is just not all that good when it comes to drafting. He's great when it comes to a free agency And trades but drafting is his weak point because he's always going to prioritize d lineman with long arms. he refuses to accept responsibility for his faults. He tries to place blame on everybody else but himself.

Almost every non jags is trying to tell everybody else that other teams should not sleep on the Jags. But I'm a Jags fan and I personally am not stoked for this season.

I think a lot of our main problems will continue because Sean Khan doesn't know which people to fire

You need to hear the stories coming out about our former DC. Dude wasn’t even discussing assignments for the game. The defense collapsed not due to talent, but coaching. Nielsen brings an actual brain and we will see the defense get better like the falcons did.

The fact ronald darby is still in the league is and is only 31 is wild. I remember my eagles had him in like 2015. Sheesh

They won't truly get anywhere as long as Baalke hinders them . They had a window where the rest of the division was relatively weak. That is over and then some. Texans have finally got the right people in charge, Colts almost made the playoffs while being struck by an almost worst-case scenario, Titans will be annoying to verse while they may not have the wins. Wildcard is about as good as it is likely to get for them.

That was a great analysis with no sugarcoating. I also didn’t think they did enough in free agency and the draft.

Only other thing I’m worried about with T-Law is his fumbles he has to limit the fumbles this year

If we are honest, the Jags were pretty much running the division for most of last year until TL got injured.
And personally I wouldnt be suprised if they finish 1st in their division specially how hard the Texans schedule is.
One thing is for sure, its gonna be a tjght race

I actually believe in the Jags this year

They literally drafted his college teammate extremely high for a RB and overpaid Kirk at the time and traded for Ridley, who is definitely a good receiver. They also got probably the most underrated TE in the whole league Engram. Don’t say they haven’t tried to give him pieces cuz they have. He was supposed to be generational so he shouldn’t need an absolutely perfect roster. He has underperformed. The Jags definitely haven’t done him wrong in any way

Man it would be so fun to sit down and talk football with you, you seem like such a quality guy that loves football. Love the content.
Something that I have been thinking about lately is receiving rooms and how even if you have a stud like say the lions have Amon ra, and jamo has potential, but they are missing another outside receiver. Then say the Colts, they have Micheal Pittman and AD Mitchell on the outside, and Josh downs in the slot, even though none of them are on Amon ras level, they have a complete receiver room. Which would you say is more dangerous?
