What does it mean to suffer like Christ?

When you sacrifice your lives for the sake of Christ and the Gospel, you will suffer. Jesus is our example of someone who suffered. Scriptures teach us how Jesus suffered even before He went to the physical cross and He is our example of an overcomer! We are called to lose our lives in this world so that we can have His life.

Luke 17:25 But first must he suffer many things and be rejected of this generation.

Hebrews 5:7 Who in the days of his flesh, having offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and having been heard for his godly fear, 8 though he was a Son, yet learned obedience by the things which he suffered; 9 and having been made perfect, he became unto all them that obey him the author of eternal salvation.

Luke 24:46 and he said unto them, Thus it is written that the Christ should suffer, and rise again from the dead the third day.

It is the will of God that we suffer hardship and the loss of this life and of the flesh. The Lord's laborers are called to give up many things for the Kingdom and the harvest of souls. But when we sacrifice for the harvest and give up earthly pleasures and desires, God promises He will multiply it back to us!

1 Peter 4:1 Forasmuch then as Christ suffered in the flesh, arm ye yourselves also with the same mind; for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin; 2 that ye no longer should live the rest of your time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God. 

Of the Apostle Paul, he was told in Acts 9:16, "for I will show him how many things he must suffer for my name's sake."

And Paul tells us in 2 Timothy 2:3, "Suffer hardship with me, as a good soldier of Christ Jesus."

Romans 8:17 and if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified with him.

Philippians 1:29 because to you it hath been granted in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him but also to suffer in his behalf.

It was the desire of Christ to do the will of His Father. Jesus prepared and sent His laborers into the harvest of that time. Will you sacrifice your life and suffer like Christ for the Kingdom and the great harvest in these end times? The harvest is plenty, and Jesus is calling His laborers to work in the harvest!

Will you be a disciple of Christ?

Matthew 9:37 Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest indeed is plenteous, but the laborers are few. 38 Pray ye, therefore, the Lord of the harvest, that he send forth laborers into his harvest.
