Hey Dominik ! I think that the major problem is related to the geographical area from which an account is posting. For example, in my country, people do not care about travel/photography/filmmaking or creators speaking in english and so, my view counts are terrible BUT, some friends of mine, moved 3 countries away, lived there for 2 months and right after 3-4 weeks, their location in the “about account” section updated to where they were currently living. Next day, guess what ? All the reels they were posting were getting x100 more reach. And I am not even joking, from reels with 1k-3k views, they were getting 300k-3m views.I think that the location on instagram is an ISSUE that needs to be discussed and somehow it needs to get to instagrams attention. I think that it is not fair if one has an educational content or puts days of work into developing a 10 seconds video just for instagram to share it with people who are not educated to digest such content. What’s your opinion on that ?

I wish I had the retention curve in my Instagram analytics! So far, I can only rely on YouTube's one, but the video preferences seem to be slightly different, so the retention curve can be, too... And TikTok views (and curves) have been tanking in the whole last year with not numerous exceptions, while the niche and target audience are the same as on other platforms where a few videos have gone viral, as they used to on TikTok. I wonder if that is because TikTok is now pushing TikTok shop and long-form videos and just not giving views or trying to give the target audience short-form content?.. Maybe you could make a video comparing that if you have any data? I think that could apply to a lot of people. Even my Reels' "deflated" views have more often than not been better than my TikTok views with roughly the same amount of followers.

My engagement went higher, but my reach... let's say 12k followers, and my reels get under 1k or 500 views. It has been the last few weeks like that despite building greater engagement in comments or story engagements. It used to be way higher views with little engagement! :o

Hm.. then why did super short reels with text on screen and long captions perform so well not long ago? The rationale was that they are being rewatched which boosted the view count, which then signaled the algo that it was a good piece of content... Instagram with its shenanigans again
