Edmonton overpass seriously damaged by oversize load

An overpass in Edmonton was damaged after it was hit by an oversize load and it could lead to thousands in tickets. CTV News Edmonton's David Ewasuk reports.

Can they come up with some kind of warning signal before the bridge if your load is over hight this is happening way too often.

Well, i for one am already sick of high volume traffic congestion and at the start of construction season this will cause so much headaches if deemed unsafe .. look at how long the Henday/Whitemud overpass is taking to repair, they sure are milking out that repair .. at the current price of gas i cant afford to idle in traffic jams caused my some driver sneaking a load through the city .. also, what yard did he leave from to load machine? Im sure this driver is not smart enough to operate the machine to load on a flatbed ..just fed up with the headaches of single lane freeway traffic and the wait times involved .. this city is ramping up population growth too and with constricted infrastructure that is constantly taking hits by short drivers that cant measure their load or request spotter trucks Especially cutting through the city

the same happened here in Calgary, 2 or 3 years ago Let industries regulate and monitor themselves, Thank you Alberta Government for the lax regulations that you so strongly believe in
