Love that material you is more pronounced and thought the ui this time, looks really nice! I also like the new toggle icon and bubbly rounded feel. I wish they changed the notification panel more and added better animations too.
One important thing tho, really curious about how OneUI 5 would turn out on the tablets. OneUI has always looked and felt worse on it, hopefully this time around they're paying it close attention too. Specially with Android 12L being out and also Android 13 supporting major changes for multitasking, like holding the gesture bar for a mini app drawer. Will you be covering oneui 5 on tablets too?

One Ui 5 looks promising. They should implement Android 13 new media control panel, output picker, material you for all apps with also quick panel, new clipboard, photo picker, the new game dashboard, Google vertical launcher and smooth animations. They should also optimize all apps with their chip

I really hope that they make stacked widgets able to be rotated vertically, similar to ios. It makes it so much smoother bc when I try swiping back to the main home screen, i end up swiping on a stacked widget lol.

Running great so far on t-mobile version. The only bug I've noticed is sometimes a pop up notification will cause the screen to go black, but only until you swipe away the notification. Also several of the Good Lock modules are not yet compatible

No one looks at Dex! Everyone can do “Impressions” but like the previous year, no one cares about tablets and Dex mode. I would like to see what does Dex look like in One UI 5.0 since there are tonnes of changes with it.

I experienced a rather serious bug. The system would not recognize my pattern while rebooting after the installation. I tried to use "Samsung find my phone" for remote unlocking without success. Even customer care gave up and scheduled me for a local repair. However, when I tried restarting using the power and down key combo to shut down and the restarting normally it worked.
I would advice disabling biometric locks before installing to avoid any chance of the bug.

this is my first time buying a newly released phone, usually i only buy after a year or so, when the price is already dropped..it feels good having to wait for the monthly updates and this OS upgrade.. 😅
i'll wait for the official release of the one UI 5.0, i want to experience first this current version..because my last(also current, because i dont use my S22 Ultra that much) phone was a Note FE(7).. 🙂

no animation improvement after months of rumors saying that the major update in one ui 5 will be animations, and now they don't actually improved them. sad. maybe upcomming beta updates will, but i don t think.

I am still waiting for those promised huge animation and gestures redesign and optimization of them. As much as I love OneUI, it is currently no doubt the laggiest and stutteriest UI. Xiaomi's MIUI is extremely bloated and still extremely smooth. Oppo's UI feels smoother than even iOS, so it's possible to make Android smooth, Samsung just needs to improve what they have. But it's been like this since like ever, and every update promises smoother animations and gestures and never delivers them, it's like if all Samsung users like us were literally starving and begging for some UI smoothness that never arrives. OneUI 5 leaks and rumours are once again promising smoothness improvements but this beta 1 has almost nothing, and feels the same as OneUI 4 which is extremely disappointing. I really hope next betas actually bring us the much awaited smoothness improvements because everytime I try my girlfriend's 13 Pro (120Hz) with that iOS smoothness I cry, a lot. I hate iOS but I can't get over how smooth that shit is no matter what you are doing, everything just slides around like butter, zero frame drops everywhere, and animations are so beautiful they sometimes can be used as a fidget toy. Those iOS animations on ProMotion really give us joy. But... Xiaomi and OPPO feel the same, so really it's a Samsung problem not Android's. Please Samsung for the love of god give us better gesture and animation smoothness or else I might someday fall into the apple shitty trap ecossystem just because that world is damn freaking smooth and clean. I avoided it all these years because I love the freedom android gives us, but damn that Pro Motion on her iPhone is really tempting me... Samsung fcking come on :(

BETA 2: Samsung has now released the Android 13 based One UI 5.0 Beta 2 for the Galaxy S22 series phones in the US. The update bears build version ZVH4 and brings a handful of new features as well as fixes for various bugs and issues. on t-mobile

Had to immediately clear memory in the one ui app, otherwise kept getting error message and homescreen wouldn't load. Once I did that, no issues and the phone seems to be running "more smoothly" overall.
