My family took a cruise last November, and at the karaoke bar, a girl named Marisol from our area got up and sang this. She absolutely crushed it! If you’re ever in Albany, NY at a karaoke night, and a lovely tattooed young lady named Marisol gets up, you’re in for a real treat. What a solid performance!

“Valerie” was penned by The Zutons (a Liverpool band) lead vocalist Dave McCabe, about an American friend of his, Valerie Starr, who was having a hard time after getting caught drink-driving.

Amy Winehouse’s cover was a slowed down R&B version of the song. It was recorded in 2006, and Mark Ronson later realized it was ONE OF THE BEST VOCALS Winehouse had ever done and handed it over for inclusion on her posthumous album “Lioness : Hidden Treasure” (2011).

There was a redheaded girl at my middle school who sang this for the 7th grade talent show(if memory serves me correctly) i never got the chance to compliment her because i was slightly shy. She once put one earbud in my ear to listen to music and...i like kinda didnt know what exactly to say. It was nice listening to her music and the way she sung at that talent show but i was pretty shy back then. She didnt really compliment me on my little dance routine haha she didnt have to haha other people as gesture of friendship (not because it was actually like goid or anything remotely good) i wish we both a little bit less shy back then i kinda missed out on making a friend but i know she is still doing well whereever she is life. She is a good person. Thanks for sharing your music like that.
