Does the inverter break..if water gets into it ?

Is it true that, should anything go wrong with the Outbacks, they are easily serviced whereas others would have to be replaced if they broke down?

my inverter blinks red after connecting battery what should I do now or how do I resolve this?

I got one of these second hand but unused. I don't know the history of it. The inverter light goes green, but there is no output power. I know my connections are good, because there is output power when I have the AC input hooked up to grid power.
