True story - I hadn't played D&D in about 18 years, but when I showed the Oxventure videos to my 10 year old son he liked it so much that we ended up buying a D&D starter set and now I run a game for him and his grandad (my dad) every Thursday. It's my first time DMing anything and the first time for both of them to play this sort of tabletop RPG - so many thanks for opening the door to that world for us. :)

So I learnt three things for this video.
1. If you and your party are the only customers in a tavern something is up with said tavern.
2. Sandwiches are magical.
3. This is the best day of my life.

Funny story; I was the dungeon master for a small session with two of my friends, and I needed to come up with characters in a tavern in the past. So I decided, you know what? Screw it. And I made the tavern be run by the Oxventurers. The interaction ended with my friends running away after yelling at Egbert that “bombs are not a religion”. (They’re also fans.) So the Oxventurers canonically run a tavern 200 years before my campaign starts.

It's refreshing, as someone who plays D&D often, to see the rules actively thrown out the window in the name of fun setpieces and hilarious situations. So often, it seems DMs forget that the rules are more guidelines in the end and that the game just needs to be fun. Good on ya, Johnny. Bravo to all.
