The Massachusetts Institute of Technology is an independent, coeducational, privately endowed university in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Our mission is to advance knowledge; to educate students in science, engineering, technology, humanities and social sciences; and to tackle the most pressing problems facing the world today. We are a community of hands-on problem-solvers in love with fundamental science and eager to make the world a better place.

The MIT YouTube channel features videos about all types of MIT research, including the robot cheetah, LIGO, gravitational waves, mathematics, and bombardier beetles, as well as videos on origami, time capsules, and other aspects of life and culture on the MIT campus. Our goal is to open the doors of MIT and bring the Institute to the world through video.

The synchronized rotation, the geometric shapes, even the tasteful white text against the gray background, it's... it's all so beautiful.

Si consideramos una densidad promedio de 10.0 gr/cm3, su g = 0.30 Hay que planearlo muy bien. Salud.

Im probably not the first to imagine this but I'm going to guess how this plays out, I planned it all. I see the stock markets taking two approaches. The short game, we plan to get it into near earth orbit in 25 years or so? It's more dangerous, we could lose it forever or crash it lol. But we can start mining it sooner.. Or the long game, take 50 years to get it here, nice and close, in a good orbit.. We'd have to crash a rocket into it, or several to slow it down, land on it in the front and blast an ion pulse type engine to slow it down., but I think it has a weird rotation and what not, alot of things to consider. Even after that, it would take im guessing 25 to 50 years before it even broke even in terms of cost.. again the stock market approach. I even had this idea to hollow it out and use it as a ship lol. You could! Once the robot miners hollow out a section, you could maybe send a manned mission and make a small base on the inside? plant some rocket boosters on different spots on the asteriod, maybe make artificial gravity, it may have it already?? Are they making the robots and what not yet? I had a whole plan for this lol.
