Sachin Tendulkar - Magical 163* vs NZ | 43rd ODI century

Sachin Tendulkar was in imperious form at Christchurch, hitting five sixes and 16 fours in his innings on the way to a majestic 163, his first ODI ton in New Zealand. Not the ones Tendulkar the wonderkid used to score, but the ones the master assessor does. After Sehwag got out, Tendulkar pulled the plug out of New Zealand's confidence with a counterattack in the next few overs. The square cut off Tim Southee in the over after Sehwag's dismissal, between point and cover, who were close to each other, will stay with the bowler for a long time. Three boundaries came in the next three overs, and Tendulkar went back to accumulation mode again.
The most destructive phase of the innings came after the century, by which time the pain in his abs, where he was hit in the last game, was starting to reach unbearable proportions. The big hits kept coming after that, the 200 kept coming closer to sight with every over. Tendulkar needed just 32 deliveries to move from 100 to 163. But he was forced to retire hurt with what looked like a pulled stomach muscle after the 45th over and in the end got his 58th man of the match award!

I can see few shots that are very key strokes of SKY, Hardik, Pant, Kohli and Rohit. Even modern day cricketers draw their fancy shots from Sachin's book. Fantastic.

We have been watching the 360° batting style by ABD in the recent past but Sachin was already doing it back in 2010 and that too on the foreign soil, there was no one like Sachin, there is no one like Sachin and there will never be anyone like Sachin..!!!

Anyone noticed the lofted scoops at 3:00 and 6:00. Sachin was already executing them even before AB Devilliers started playing them which made him a batting superstar.

Sachin missed 200 for 3 times
1. 163*
2. 175 vs Australia
3. 186*

2:49 is easily one of the genius strokes because it was a good ball as well, the bowler swing the ball so that the batsman couldn't predict the bounce but Sachin simply angled the bat so that he could aim the shot to the space he was looking for, that's what an experienced and talented Batsman plays, truly a masterclass shot, even the commentator was impressed with that timing.

I don' t know why but I get emotional and feel like crying when I watch old Sachin videos.

When somebody dies, his/her loved ones are sad because they can never see him/her again. Same way there is a hole inside my heart because I can never see him bat again. Also, there is the regret that I could never see him bat live in a cricket stadium.

if he play till 50 overs it would be the 1st 200 on odi cricket history. ...
but I'm glad that the record was set later by him...

What outstanding technique! Change of stance when required, perfect adaptation to the conditions, particular tactics against each bowler, great balance even with improvised strokes and frankly very simple approach to batting. Complicated in his mind with all the planning and practice involved but execution...simply breathtaking. GOAT!!!!
