50's heyday was '02-05. By 2006, Hip Hop was transitioning. By 2006 Kanye, Wayne, and T.I were on top. Summer 2007bwas all Wayne. Kanye was on fire too but his lane was a little different at the time. Wayne had the streets on lock on summer 2007. The anticipation for Carter 3 was monumental. There is nothing 50 could have done during '2006-2009" period. Wayne was damn near untouchable.

50 knew his label wasn't pushing his music anymore so to stay relevant in music he was using beef to get a buzz. Mixtape format helped both artist succeed. Marketing genius. Not real beef just smoke screen.
